The Super Simplex Levitation was created by Robert Harbin and detailed in the Magic of Robert Harbin. Owners of this book are authorized to build and perform the illusion. It originated as a result of a levitation being needed in the TV series of "Randall and Hopkirk deceased." It had to be in a room set, with ceiling and a wall background, and above all it had to be silent in operation. Harbin came up with the solution in 24 hours and Liz Frazer floated and stayed "floated."

An assistant is wrapped in a cloth and levitated from an ornamented couch. The couch is removed and she remains floating. A hoop is passed over her and the magician steps forward for his applause. She then floats higher, virtually out of sight. The magician turns around and realizes she is missing. He then motions for the back curtain to be raised and the audience then sees there is nothing behind the curtain. The magician then "realizes" where the assistant has gone and slowly motions for her descent back to the couch, having been replaced.
