A frame sits atop a rectangular table on stage. Inside the frame is a painting. The magician shows how one may "get lost in the painting" and removes panels from the painting forming a box on the table. His assistant enters the box (though it's clearly not large enough to hold her fully), and the magician waves a cloth over the top as the assistant completely disappears. The cloth is then shoved through the center of the box and down through a hole in the table. It seems as if the lady has truly vanished. The magician can then step into the box showing nothing inside. He may then unfold the painting, showing it has returned to its 2-dimensional form and that the lady is nowhere to be found. The apparatus is then spun around showing the lady is not hiding behind the prop. The process is then reversed and the lady emerges from the painting.
